...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following river in
western Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding will return to much of the Wabash River in western
Indiana.  Flood crests will be lower than those seen in late
February.

Flooding was the result of snow melt in northern Indiana and 1 to 2
inches of rainfall in east central Illinois and west central Indiana
early Wednesday morning.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

.Lowland flooding continued along much of the Wabash River in western
Indiana on Sunday morning.  The crest was at Terre Haute and will be
in the Hutsonville and Vincennes areas by Thursday.  A secondary
crest will approach Covington Tuesday afternoon Flood crests will be
around 2 feet lower than those seen in late February and early
March.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following river in 
western Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding continued along much of the Wabash River in western
Indiana on Monday morning. River levels were slowly rising from
Hutsonville to New Harmony. The river will crest in the stretch of
the river by Friday at levels at least two feel lower than those
experienced in late February and early March.  The river will remain
near crest level for 2 to 4 days.

Snowmelt in northern Indiana on Friday and Saturday caused the Wabash
River to rise about one foot above levels seen earlier last week. 
This snowmelt crest arrived in the Covington area early Monday and
will wash out in the Montezuma area.

The Wabash River will be slow to fall during the week as the
remaining snow cover melts in northern Indiana.  Flooding along
portions of the Wabash River will continue into the fourth week of
March.  

Flooding affected fallow agricultural lands and a few local river
roads.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
Indiana...

  Wabash River...

.Lowland flooding and elevated river levels continued along the
Wabash River in western Indiana on Wednesday morning.  The Wabash
River was nearly stationary to slowly rising from Interstate 70 in
west central Indiana to Indiana SR 64 in southwest Indiana.  Little
change will occur in this portion of the Wabash through Thursday.

The Wabash River is expected to be receding at all western Indiana
locations by Saturday.  Flooding along portions of the Wabash River
will continue into the fourth week of March.  

Flooding affected fallow agricultural lands and a few local river
roads.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.
