.Unseasonably warm temperatures causing snow melt across northern
Indiana, along with predicted rainfall tonight and Wednesday, will
produce minor flooding along the Wabash River. 

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

western Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding will return to much of the Wabash River in western
Indiana.  Flood crests will be lower than those seen in late
February.

Flooding was the result of snow melt in northern Indiana and 1 to 2
inches of rainfall in east central Illinois and west central Indiana
early Wednesday morning.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  50.  Flooding of agricultural land begins in Knox County Indiana 
  west of the railroad extending for the Oaktown area to the

.Lowland flooding continued along much of the Wabash River in western
Indiana on Friday morning.  The river was at or near crest from
Covington to Terre Haute and will crest by Wednesday in the
Hutsonville and Vincennes areas.  Flood crests will be around 2 feet
lower than those seen in late February and early March.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

western Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding continued along much of the Wabash River in western
Indiana on Monday morning. River levels were slowly rising from
Hutsonville to New Harmony. The river will crest in the stretch of
the river by Friday at levels at least two feel lower than those
experienced in late February and early March.  The river will remain
near crest level for 2 to 4 days.

Snowmelt in northern Indiana on Friday and Saturday caused the Wabash
River to rise about one foot above levels seen earlier last week. 
This snowmelt crest arrived in the Covington area early Monday and
will wash out in the Montezuma area.

The Wabash River will be slow to fall during the week as the
remaining snow cover melts in northern Indiana.  Flooding along
portions of the Wabash River will continue into the fourth week of
March.  

Flooding affected fallow agricultural lands and a few local river
roads.

Indiana...

  Wabash River...

.Lowland flooding and elevated river levels continued along the
Wabash River in western Indiana on Wednesday morning.  The Wabash
River was nearly stationary to slowly rising from Interstate 70 in
west central Indiana to Indiana SR 64 in southwest Indiana.  Little
change will occur in this portion of the Wabash through Thursday.

The Wabash River is expected to be receding at all western Indiana
locations by Saturday.  Flooding along portions of the Wabash River
will continue into the fourth week of March.  

Flooding affected fallow agricultural lands and a few local river
roads.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river

SOUTHWESTERLY LLJET OF AROUND 50 KTS. DECENT ISENTROPIC LIFT FROM 0
TO 6Z WITH THIS FEATURE. WITH ELEVATED INSTABILITY AVAILABLE

FOR THE ENTIRE AREA AND OVER 50 ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OR SO. OF
NOTE IN THE CROSS SECTION THOUGH IS THAT THE AREA OF NEGATIVE EPV
/ENHANCED INSTABILITY/ IS SHOWING UP JUST BELOW A DECENT INTRUSION

NORTHWEST...BUT LOOKS LIKE A SHORT-LIVED WARM LAYER REMAINS ALOFT
WHICH COULD ALLOW FOR SOME BRIEF SLEET BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO SNOW.
BY 15Z SOUNDINGS SHOW ALL SNOW EVEN SOUTH OF THE AREA SO HAVE THE
ENTIRE AREA SNOW STARTING THEN. IN BETWEEN 9 AND 15Z SHOULD SEE SNOW
MOVE IN FROM THE NORTHWEST AND SEE A SIMILAR TRANSITION FROM
NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST OF RAIN TO A MIX OF RAIN/BRIEF SLEET/SNOW TO

AS FAR AS SNOW AMOUNTS ARE CONCERNED...LOOKS LIKE THE NORTHERN
COUNTIES COULD SEE 3-5 INCHES...WITH AROUND 2 OR SO CENTRAL AND
TRACE TO 1 IN THE SOUTH. WITH THE STRONG FORCING IN THE NORTH
COULDN/T RULE OUT 6 INCHES SOMEWHERE...BUT WITH THE WARM GROUND TO
START OUT AND THE DRY AIR MOVING IN QUICKLY ALOFT TO SHUT THINGS
DON/T EXPECT TO SEE THAT WIDESPREAD EVEN IN THE NORTHERN COUNTIES.
WENT WITH A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE NORTHERN COUNTIES WITH

ANOTHER BIG CONCERN WILL BE THE WIND WITH THIS SYSTEM. A TIGHT
