...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
central and northern Indiana...

  River...White River...Wildcat Creek...Youngs Creek...


.Widespread flooding continued along rivers in central and southern
Indiana following rainfall from the recent storms and rapid
snow melt.  Flooding will affect local and state roads and possibly
some residential areas.  

At least 10 residences evacuated because of localized flooding from
ice jams along the Wildcat Creek in Tippecanoe County.  Automated
equipment indicated ice jams possibly forming and breaking up along
the Wabash River and local tributaries in north central Indiana on
Friday afternoon.  Local river residents of Americus...River
Junction...Lafayette and other areas may be at risk for flooding
through Saturday. Any ice problems along the Wabash River will be
confined to the areas upstream of I-74.  There have been no reports
of ice jams along the White or East Fork White Rivers in central and
southern Indiana.

Flood crests are not expected to exceed those experienced in December
for the White and East Fork White Rivers.  Flooding along the Wabash
River from Lafayette to Vincennes will be higher than December levels
but lower than those seen in April.  Most locations in central
Indiana will crest by Monday.  Locations in western and southern
Indiana will see crest during the week of February 23.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 14.0 feet by 
  tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage late Monday
  morning.
* At 13.2 feet...Lowland flooding in progress along Driftwood River
in
  northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club 
  area flooded.  At least 6 inches of water flowing over CR 950N to 
  Club. Water is less than one foot away from CR 330W just south of 
  its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is 
  flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river 
  bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally 
  flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR 
  900W.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and 
  continue to rise to near 9.8 feet by tomorrow early afternoon.the 
  river will fall below flood stage by late Sunday morning.
* At 10.0 feet...Every Bartholomew county road that approaches or 
  crosses the East Fork White River including Southern Crossing is 
  affected by flood waters.  County Road 800 south is extensively 
  flooded in southern Bartholomew County.  Mill Race Park in Columbus
  is extensively flooded.  The local water fowl swimming in  the park
  wait for visitors to feed them.  Flood waters were on State Road 11 
  in the southbound lane about 1 mile north of County Road 800 South 
  in March 2008.

  is fairly frequent...many local and state roads flood.  Seymour 
  gravel pit begins to flood.  Livestock and equipment must be 
  relocated to higher ground.  High water surrounds river residences 
  near Rockford.  CR 760 E south of river gaging station is 
  impassable.

  Donica Church Road, between Logan Bottom and the hill; Peerless 
  Road, by Mica Metals; Little Salt Creek Run; Stumphole Bridge Road,
  near Indiana State Road 450; Huron-Williams Road; Lawrenceport 
  Road; Rivervale Road and Earl Road.

* At 21.2 feet...At this level during December 2013 backwater reached 
  the tailwater of Lake Monroe as Salt Creek stopped falling.  The 
  crest of the river followed 2 days later and reached 27.6 feet at 
  Bedford and caused Salt Creek to rise nearly 6 feet at the 
  tailwater of Monroe Lake.

DISCUSSION: IN THE WAKE OF A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM EXITING THE
REGION...STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY TODAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

OUTLOOK: RIVER FLOODING WILL BE A PROBLEM THROUGH THE PERIOD.
SNOW IS POSSIBLE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY...AND AGAIN ON MONDAY
NIGHT BUT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT.

DISCUSSION: A COUPLE OF WEAK UPPER WAVES WILL BRING LIGHT SNOW
CHANCES OVER THE WEEKEND. OTHERWISE HIGH PRESSURE WILL PROVIDE DRY
CONDITIONS.
