NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS THIS AFTERNOON. STORMS WILL BE MORE
ISOLATED OVER THE PIEDMONT OF THE CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA.
FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS THE PRIMARY THREAT. A FEW
OF THE STORMS COULD PRODUCE SEVERE WEATHER...MAINLY IN THE FORM OF
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. THE MOST LIKELY LOCATION FOR SEVERE STORMS IS
ALONG THE INTERSTATE 40 CORRIDOR. THE STORMS WILL WEAKEN IN THE
EVENING.
