The nearest sounding before it

Corpus Christi, TX (KCRP), launched 12:00Z, 10.5 hours before the alert went out and 27 km from the middle of its area. This is the routine balloon launch nearest before it, the air the forecaster had in hand, not a measurement taken for the alert.

VALID 292227Z - 292330Z

ISOLATED TSTMS HAVE DEVELOPED ALONG A SLOW-MOVING SEA BREEZE
BOUNDARY OVER THE S TX COASTAL PLAIN. SPARSE COVERAGE WILL PRECLUDE
WW ISSUANCE...BUT AN ISOLATED THREAT FOR SVR HAIL AND A DMGG WIND
GUST WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING. NEARLY STATIONARY
STORMS WILL ALSO PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL RATES.

RADAR MOSAIC COMPOSITE IMAGERY SHOWS ISOLATED TSTMS HAVE DEVELOPED
ALONG A SEA BREEZE BOUNDARY SLOWLY MOVING WWD ACROSS THE S TX
COASTAL PLAIN. MOIST BOUNDARY LAYER CONDITIONS AND STEEP MIDLEVEL
LAPSE RATES HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO MLCAPE VALUES AOA 2500 J/KG.
ADDITIONALLY...S-SELY LOW-LEVEL WINDS OF 10-20 KTS POSITIONED
BENEATH MODERATE WLY MIDLEVEL FLOW IS YIELDING 0-6 KM BULK SHEAR
NEAR 30 KTS /PER CRP/BRO VWP DATA/...SUFFICIENT FOR ROTATING TSTMS.
THESE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR THE
PRODUCTION OF ISOLATED SVR HAIL AND A FEW DMGG WIND GUSTS.
ADDITIONALLY...WITH NEARLY STATIONARY STORM MOTIONS BEING
OBSERVED...HEAVY RAINFALL RATES /EXCEEDING 2 INCHES PER HR WITH THE
STRONGEST STORMS/ MAY OCCUR. A GRADUAL DECREASE IN TSTM INTENSITY IS
EXPECTED AFTER 00Z...AS DIURNAL COOLING AND INCREASING CINH LEAD TO
A WANING SVR THREAT.
