EVAPORATIVE COOLING AND SATURATION OF A SIGNIFICANT DRY
LAYER...AS NOTED ON THE 00Z KTOP SOUNDING IN THE 925-750MB
LAYER...IS AIDING MIXING PROCESSES AND PRODUCING 45 TO 55 MPH
WINDS OVER PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS. FURTHER
TO WEST...THESE WINDS HAVE BEEN MEASURED NEAR 60 MPH NEAR
ELLSWORTH.

THESE STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER OTTAWA COUNTY
UNTIL THIS DRY LAYER SATURATES ENOUGH AND THE MIXING OF STRONGER
WINDS ALOFT WEAKENS. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR SIMILAR PROCESSES
WEST OF REPUBLIC AND CLOUD COUNTIES WHICH COULD PRODUCE SIMILAR
WIND SPEEDS. FOR NOW HAVE OPTED TO HANDLE THE SITUATION WITH
SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ALERTS HIGHLIGHTING THE STRONG WEST WINDS
BEING PRODUCED. IF WIND SPEEDS INCREASE FURTHER...WILL BE ISSUING
HIGH WIND WARNINGS.

EAST THIS CONVECTION WILL BE ABLE TO TRACK. A WARM FRONT WILL
LIFT NORTH THROUGH THE TERMINALS AFTER 12Z FRIDAY WITH SURFACE
WINDS INCREASING ABOVE 10 KNOTS AND BECOMING GUSTY. NEAR THIS
FRONT...DAYTIME HEATING AND INSTABILITY COULD PRODUCE A FEW
