FREEZING RAIN WITH RATES OF 0.05 TO 0.10 IN/HR IS EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE MOVING NEWD THIS MORNING INTO EARLY AFTERNOON WITHIN A
NARROW CORRIDOR ACROSS PORTIONS OF ACROSS E-CNTRL NH AND CNTRL ME.
STRONG DEEP-LAYER ASCENT IN ASSOCIATION WITH SFC LOW PRESSURE MOVING
NEWD NEAR THE NEW ENGLAND COASTLINE WILL ALLOW PRECIPITATION TO
CONTINUE MOVING NEWD ACROSS NEW ENGLAND THIS MORNING. SFC
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FREEZING OVER A LARGE PART
OF ME AND NH AWAY FROM THE COAST...WITH THE EXCEPTION BEING INTERIOR
SECTIONS OF SERN ME. THIS WILL ALLOW PRECIPITATION TO FALL AS
FREEZING RAIN WITHIN 25 MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES
WEST OF LCI TO 10 MILES SOUTH OF HUL. IN THIS REGION...RUC/NAM
FORECAST SOUNDINGS DEPICT AN ELEVATED WARM NOSE AROUND 850 MB WHERE
TEMPERATURES EXCEED 3C. THIS WILL ALLOW PRECIPITATION TO MELT AS IT
FALLS THROUGH THE COLUMN BEFORE REFREEZING AT THE SURFACE. STRONG
LOW-LEVEL FRONTOGENESIS WILL SUPPORT FREEZING RAIN RATES OF 0.05 TO
0.10 IN/HR. THE 09Z RUN OF THE EXPERIMENTAL HRRR INDICATES THAT MOST
OF THE FREEZING RAIN WILL HAVE MOVED OUT OF NH BY 17Z...AND OUT OF
ME BY 21Z.
