SCATTERED SHOWERS MOVING EAST ACROSS THE FLORIDA PENINSULA LATE THIS MORNING WILL DEVELOP INTO LIGHTNING STORMS THIS AFTERNOON OVER THE EAST SIDE OF THE FLORIDA PENINSULA...MAINLY SOUTH OF ORLANDO. DRIER AIR HAS FILTERED DOWN INTO LAKE...VOLUSIA... SEMINOLE AND ORANGE COUNTIES WHICH WILL LIMIT STORM COVERAGE. THE EAST COAST SEA BREEZE BOUNDARY HAS ALREADY DEVELOPED ALONG MUCH OF THE COAST AND WILL PUSH SLOWLY INLAND. STORM COVERAGE IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AS INCOMING SHOWERS AND STORMS INTERACT WITH THE INLAND MOVING SEA BREEZE BOUNDARY. THE BEST CHANCE FOR LIGHTNING STORMS WILL BE OVER CENTRAL OSCEOLA...SOUTH BREVARD...INDIAN RIVER...SAINT LUCIE...MARTIN AND OKEECHOBEE COUNTIES. A FEW STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING FREQUENT TO EXCESSIVE CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND DOWNBURST WINDS UP TO 50 MPH. STORM MOTION WILL BE TOWARD THE EAST OR NORTHEAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH. .FLOODING IMPACT... LOCALLY UP TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WHICH WOULD CAUSE TEMPORARY FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. .EXCESSIVE HEAT IMPACT... TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 90S WILL COMBINE WITH HUMIDITY TO PRODUCE HEAT INDICES AROUND 105 FOR AT LEAST A COUPLE HOURS.
