THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY AFTER A DRY AND RELATIVELY MILD DAY WEDNESDAY...CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO QUICKLY TURN COLDER WITH SNOWFALL DEVELOPING IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND ACROSS THE PLAINS AND REMAIN MOUNTAIN AREAS WEDNESDAY EVENING FOLLOWING THE PASSAGE OF STRONG COLD FRONT. BRISK UPSLOPE FLOW EAST OF THE MOUNTAINS THROUGH THE NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING COULD PRODUCE PERIODS OF MODERATE SNOWFALL IN THE FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS AND ALONG THE INTERSTATE 25 URBAN CORRIDOR...WITH LIGHTER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FARTHER OUT ACROSS THE NORTHEAST PLAINS. IT NOW APPEARS THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT WHEN UPSLOPE FLOW WILL BE AT ITS STRONGEST. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BY LATE THURSDAY MORNING COULD RANGE FROM 3 TO 7 INCHES ALONG THE INTERSTATE 25 URBAN CORRIDOR...THE HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE SOUTH AND WEST OF DENVER...TO UPWARDS OF A FOOT IN THE FOOTHILLS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 70 AND PORTIONS OF THE PALMER DIVIDE. THE PLAINS WILL LIKELY SEE LIGHTER ACCUMULATION... GENERALLY LESS THAN 3 INCHES. IN ADDITION...NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH AND HIGHER GUSTS EAST OF INTERSTATE 25 COULD ALSO PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW RESULTING IN POOR VISIBILITIES AND DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS. WEATHER CONDITIONS SHOULD BEGIN TO IMPROVE LATE ON THURSDAY BUT REMAIN QUITE COLD.
