ELEVATED FLOODING RISK. LIMITED TORNADO RISK. AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING... THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ALONG A FRONTAL BOUNDARY EXTENDING FROM PITTSBURG KANSAS TO VICHY MISSOURI THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI LATER THIS EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS A COMPLEX OF STORMS DEVELOPS ACROSS CENTRAL KANSAS AND PUSHES SOUTHEAST INTO THE AREA. DISCUSSION... SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE MAIN RISK WILL BE LARGE HAIL TO THE SIZE OF HALF DOLLARS AND WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THERE WILL BE A LIMITED RISK FOR A BRIEF WEAK TORNADO OR TWO ASSOCIATED WITH ANY STORMS THAT DEVELOP AND MOVE ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY. A MORE ORGANIZED COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL THEN BE POSSIBLE LATER THIS EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. THESE STORMS WILL OCCUR IN RESPONSE TO AN APPROACHING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE INTERACTING WITH A HIGHLY UNSTABLE AND VERY MOIST AIRMASS.
