.DISCUSSION...
POTENT STORM SYSTEM TO WORK ITS WAY ACROSS THE AREA OVERNIGHT. HAVE
ALREADY SEEN SOME AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN TODAY ACROSS NORTHERN AND
PORTIONS OF WESTERN OKLAHOMA. THIS AREA WILL SHIFT EAST AND
SOUTHEAST TONIGHT AS THE UPPER WAVE MOVES OUT INTO THE PLAINS AND A
COLD FRONT PUSHES SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA. WILL CONTINUE TO FLASH
FLOOD WATCH THROUGH FIRST PART OF THE NIGHT ACROSS THE NORTH AND THROUGH
12Z FRIDAY MORNING IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST.

OTHERWISE FOR TONIGHT THERE WILL ALSO BE A RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER TO
GO ALONG WITH THE HEAVY RAIN...MAINLY SOUTH AND EAST OF THE
ADVANCING COLD FRONT. THIS THREAT SHOULD END AROUND MIDNIGHT AS THE
COLD FRONT CLEARS THE AREA.

PRECIP WILL BE SHUTTING OFF EARLY IN THE DAY ON FRIDAY WITH COOLER
TEMPERATURES AND CLEARING SKIES. MODELS THEN BRING A REINFORCING
SHOT OF COLDER AIR INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS ON SATURDAY. WE WILL
LIKELY SEE FALLING TEMPERATURES SATURDAY AFTN ACROSS THE NORTH WITH
DEVELOPING LOW CLOUDS AND POSSIBLY DRIZZLE LATE SAT AFTN AND
EVENING. AS THE SURFACE HIGH SETTLES SOUTH THROUGH THE PLAINS
SATURDAY NIGHT LOCATIONS ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA
WILL FALL TO NEAR THE FREEZING MARK AND WILL NEED TO LOOK AT THE
POSSIBILITY OF FROST/FREEZE WATCH/WARNING FOR PARTS OF THE STATE.
LAYER OF CLOUDS MAY BE KEEP TEMPS FROM GOING EVEN COLDER.

TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY STRUGGLE TO WARM ON SUNDAY AS LOW CLOUDS
MAINTAIN A HOLD AND PATCHY DRIZZLE CONTINUES AS WELL. A SLIGHT WARM UP
MAY OCCUR ON MONDAY BEFORE ANOTHER MORE BACKDOOR COLD FRONT MOVES
THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. SATURATED LOW LEVEL WILL CONT TO
MAINTAIN THE POSSIBILITY OF PATCHY LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE. SOME
ELEVATED THUNDER POSSIBILITIES AS WAA KICKS IN AS SFC HIGH SHIFTS
EAST. ANOTHER STRONGER STORM SYSTEM THEN APPROACHES THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS BY LATE NEXT WEEK WITH ANOTHER CHANCE OF RAIN/THUNDERSTORMS.
