A WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING.

A STRONG COLD FRONT JUST NORTH OF THE REGION IS EXPECTED TO PUSH
THROUGH IN A FEW HOURS...BRINGING RAPIDLY INCREASING NORTH WINDS
TO THE REGION. UPSTREAM SUSTAINED WIND OBSERVATIONS ALONG THE
COAST OF SE VIRGINIA HAVE RECENTLY JUMPED TO AROUND 35 MPH.
COMPUTER MODELS INDICATE THIS SURGE WILL SPREAD INTO THE NORTHERN
OUTER BANKS SHORTLY AFTER NOONTIME.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 31 TO 39 MPH WITH HIGHER
GUSTS ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING
