A COLD FRONT IS CURRENTLY ALIGNED ROUGHLY ALONG THE INTERSTATE 40
CORRIDOR AND IS PROGRESSIVELY MOVING SOUTHEAST. THE AIRMASS SOUTH
OF THIS FRONT REMAINS WARM AND MOIST AND WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY
UNSTABLE THIS AFTERNOON. EXPECT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO
REDEVELOP ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY...WITH A FEW STRONG STORMS
POSSIBLE ALONG THE FRONT AS IT MOVES THROUGH NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
THIS AFTERNOON. STORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SOME
HEAVY RAIN...SO WILL KEEP FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN PLACE FOR NOW. ONLY
CONCERNS THAT COULD BE A NEGATIVE FOR STORM REDEVELOPMENT SOUTH OF
THE FRONT IS A CONVECTIVE OUTFLOW BOUNDARY CURRENTLY MOVING
THROUGH NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. STILL THINK AIRMASS WILL NOT BE TOO
DISTURBED BY THIS FEATURE AS AREAS NORTH OF THIS BOUNDARY STILL
HAVE RECOVERED QUICKLY WITH SOUTH WINDS AND NEAR 70 DEWPOINTS.
NORTH OF THE FRONT...WINDS HAVE TURNED NORTHWESTERLY AND
TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO RISE MUCH FURTHER THAN CURRENT
TEMPS. SOME ELEVATED INSTABILITY ABOVE THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY SHOULD
KEEP SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ONGOING INTO THIS AFTERNOON. HAVE
RAISED POPS BACK TO CHANCE OVER THESE LOCATIONS.
