CONCERN OVER NEXT FEW DAYS WILL BE TEMPERATURES/WIND CHILLS. A
WIND CHILL WARNING HAS BEEN POSTED FOR THE BORDERLAND/ARROWHEAD
FOR TONIGHT THROUGH NOON ON WEDNESDAY.

ISSUED A SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT THIS AFTRN TO CONVEY THREAT OF
PROLONGED EXTREME COLD AND HAZARDOUS WIND CHILLS ACROSS THE
REGION THROUGH FRIDAY. THE NORTHLAND WILL EXPERIENCE SEVERAL DAYS
OF WIDESPREAD SUB-ZERO DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES...AND OVERNIGHT
LOWS OF 20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO. MODERATE WIND CHILLS OF 20 TO 30
BELOW ZERO WILL BE COMMON IN THE AFTERNOONS...WHILE PLUMMETING INTO
THE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS 40 TO 50 BELOW ZERO RANGE FOR THE
OVERNIGHT/EARLY MORNING HOURS. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES/WIND
CHILLS WILL BE FOUND IN THE BORDERLAND AND ARROWHEAD
REGION...WITH SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES SOUTHWARD.

DEEP LONG WAVE TROUGH IS CURRENTLY CENTERED FROM HUDSON BAY...OVER
THE GRT LAKES...AND THROUGH THE CEN CONUS WITH THE 540 DAM 1000-500
MB THICKNESS EXTENDING ALL THE WAY TO TEXAS. A FAST MOVING SHORT
WAVE IN THE 50 KT NW FLOW AND SFC COLD FRONT WILL TRACK SE OVER
THE DAKOTAS AND ACROSS THE SW HALF OF MN INTO IOWA OVERNIGHT. THE
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SN WILL REMAIN TO THE W AND S OF THE
FA...WITH -SHSN CREEPING NWRD INTO THE KBRD TO KRZN AREA. SNOW
AMOUNTS OVERNIGHT FOR THIS AREA WILL BE A DUSTING TO A FEW TENTHS
OF AN INCH...WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS SWRD. DECREASED CLOUD COVER AND
