SHORT TERM GFS/ETA SURFACE PROGS SIMILAR THROUGH 00Z SAT.
974 MB LOW NEAR SAINT LAWRENCE ISLAND AT 18Z THU WILL FILL
TO ABOUT 1000 MB OVER THE WESTERN BROOKS RANGE BY 18Z FRI...THEN
WEAKEN INTO AN ELONGATED TROUGH ALONG THE BROOKS RANGE BY 00Z FRI.
SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE OVER THE WEST COAST AND WESTERN INTERIOR
AREAS TONIGHT. SOME LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW MAY CONTINUE IN THE NULATO
HILLS IN ZONE 216 THROUGH THIS EVENING. WINTER STORM WARNINGS FOR
ZONES 212-215-216 WILL BE CANCELLED...BUT WILL PUT UP STRONG WIND
HEADLINES OVERNIGHT SINCE WIND WILL BE THE MAIN FORECAST ISSUE.

WINDS IN ZONES 202-203-204 WILL COME UP SOME THIS EVENING...BUT
WILL NOT LIKELY BE STRONG ENOUGH TO CREATE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS.

SURFACE REPORTS AND WEB CAMS INDICATING SIGNIFICANT SNOW ALONG THE
SOUTH SLOPES OF THE ALASKA RANGE. WILL PUT UP WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY TO COVER THE SNOWFALL IN THOSE ZONES WITH ADDITIONAL
ACCUMULATION EXPECTED TONIGHT. SNOW ALONG THE SOUTH SLOPES IN ZONE
225 IS EXPECTED TO TAPER OFF LATE THIS EVENING. NORTHWEST
FLOW SETTING UP IN ZONES 224-226 WILL GENERATE UPSLOPE SNOW
ALONG THE NORTH FACING SLOPES OF THE ALASKA RANGE AND OVER
MUCH OF ZONE 224.

PAPD RADAR SCOPE REMAINS FULL AND SNOW IN ZONE 222 IS EXPECTED
CONTINUE THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON BEFORE CHANGING TO SNOW SHOWERS.
STRONG WINDS WILL BE AN ISSUE OVER THE HIGHER SUMMITS IN ZONES
220-221-222 AND WILL EXTEND ADVISORIES INTO FRI TO HANDLE THE
STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW. LOWER ELEVATIONS IN THE INTERIOR
WILL EXPERIENCE BLUSTERY WIND CONDITIONS AS WELL AS STRONG
HIGH PRESSURE RAPIDLY BUILDS IN FROM THE SOUTHWEST. STRONG
PRESSURE RISE FIELDS WILL ASSIST IN SPIKING UP THE SURFACE
WIND SPEEDS.

GUSTY WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITY WILL CONTINUE UNTIL
AROUND MIDNIGHT IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN BROOKS RANGE PASSES
BEFORE BEGINNING TO DIMINISH.

NEXT ROUND OF STRONG WINDS AND SNOW EXPECTED TO BEGIN
IN ZONES 213-214 LATE SAT AFTERNOON OR SAT EVE.
