THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST...NORTH CENTRAL
AND WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI...AS WELL AS EXTREME EASTERN KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

A LARGE UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM HAS BEGUN TO LIFT OUT OF THE FOUR
CORNERS REGION. A LARGE LAYER OF WARM AIR ALOFT WILL PERSIST ACROSS
THE OUTLOOK AREA THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON HOURS WHICH WILL SUPPRESS
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY FOR MUCH OF THE DAY. THERE IS A POTENTIAL BY
EARLY EVENING THAT THIS WARM LAYER MAY ERODE JUST ENOUGH TO ALLOW
ISOLATED SUPER CELL THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP ACROSS PORTIONS OF
NORTHWESTERN MISSOURI AND IN AREAS ALONG THE MISSOURI KANSAS BORDER.
DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF INSTABILITY IN THE ATMOSPHERE...THESE
STORMS MAY BECOME STRONG TO SEVERE...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR LARGE
HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES.

A MUCH HIGHER PROBABILITY OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL ARRIVE
DURING THE LATE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS. STRONG TO SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP RAPIDLY ACROSS CENTRAL KANSAS AND NEBRASKA
THIS AFTERNOON WITH A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS PUSHING INTO THE
WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA DURING LIKELY AFTER 9 PM. THE
POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR DAMAGING HIGH WINDS...LARGE HAIL. ISOLATED
TORNADOES MAY ALSO BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS ACTIVITY AS INDIVIDUAL SUPER
CELLS MAY ACCOMPANY THE LINE OF STORMS THAT WILL MOVE THROUGH.

MANY RIVERS ARE ALSO RUNNING AT ABOVE NORMAL LEVELS AT THIS
TIME...ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL THIS AFTERNOON AND NIGHT WILL LIKELY
LEAD TO ADDITIONAL RIVER FLOODING AS WELL AS THE POSSIBILITY OF FLASH
FLOODING.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF THE
OUTLOOK AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT. SOME UNCERTAINTY EXISTS AS TO IF THIS
ACTIVITY WILL REMAIN SEVERE DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF
FRIDAY.

OTHERWISE...A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT ACROSS EASTERN KANSAS AND
WESTERN MISSOURI THROUGH 10 PM THIS EVENING. SUSTAINED SOUTH WINDS
WILL RUN BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH THROUGH THE DAYTIME HOURS...WITH
GUSTS TO 45 MPH POSSIBLE IN SOME LOCATIONS. WINDS WILL BEGIN TO
SUBSIDE THIS EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE SOUTH AND EAST OF A LINE FROM KANSAS
CITY TO KIRKSVILLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON. A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS
MAY BE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN CORNER OF THE CWA.

ANOTHER CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL ARRIVE ON SATURDAY AND PERSIST
INTO SUNDAY ACROSS NORTHERN MISSOURI. IT IS TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE IF
THIS ACTIVITY COULD BE SEVERE.
