NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

AREAS AFFECTED...NWRN MN

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH UNLIKELY

VALID 020031Z - 020230Z

SMALL TSTM COMPLEX WAS TRACKING SEWD FROM SERN MANITOBA AT ABOUT
30KT. THIS ACTIVITY WILL LIKELY HOLD TOGETHER WHILE MOVING ACROSS
PARTS OF ROSEAU...MARSHALL...AND NRN BELTRAMI COUNTIES OF NRN MN
OVER THE NEXT 1-2 HOURS. SOME BACKBUILDING PROPAGATION OF THIS
CONVECTION IS POSSIBLE ACROSS NWRN MN THIS EVENING AS LOW LEVEL JET
AND ISENTROPIC LIFT STRENGTHEN ON THE EDGE OF STRONGER CAP ACROSS
THE NRN PLAINS. A WEAK LOW-AMPLITUDE SHORT WAVE TROUGH NOW CRESTING
THE MEAN RIDGE ACROSS THE REGION WILL FURTHER ENHANCE ASCENT OVER
THE AREA. PRIMARY LIMITING FACTOR AT THIS TIME APPEARS TO BE LACK OF
STRONGER DESTABILIZATION. WHILE STEEP MID-LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND
STRONGER SHEAR ARE LIKELY TO ACCOMPANY THE SHORT WAVE IMPULSE
TRACKING SEWD TONIGHT...AND COULD AID IN MARGINALLY SEVERE HAIL
PRODUCTION...LACK OF STRONGER MOISTURE FLUX INTO THE REGION WILL
LIKELY INHIBIT GREATER SEVERE POTENTIAL. NO WATCH IS EXPECTED AT
THIS TIME.
