206 PM CDT SAT JUN 9 2007

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK COVERS NORTHERN...WESTERN...
CENTRAL...AND SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA...AND WESTERN NORTH TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

THUNDERSTORM OUTLOOK...
THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NORTH TEXAS
AND MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN HALF OF OKLAHOMA.

LOCATION...
THE SLIGHT RISK AREA IS NEAR AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 40.

TIMING...
THE MOST LIKELY TIME FOR SEVERE STORMS WILL BE THROUGH 10 PM.

IMPACTS...
WINDS TO 65 MPH AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS...
STORM SPOTTER GROUPS AND EMERGENCY MANAGERS IN WESTERN NORTH TEXAS
AND SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA SHOULD BE READY FOR
SEVERE WEATHER OPERATIONS AT ANY TIME THROUGH LATE EVENING... AND
THOSE FARTHER NORTH ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA SHOULD
BE PREPARED FOR POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER OPERATIONS FROM LATE THIS
AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING.

DISCUSSION...
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHERN
TEXAS INTO SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA AS A WARM FRONT GRADUALLY LIFTS
NORTHWARD THROUGH THE AREA. VERY UNSTABLE CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST
ACROSS THESE AREAS INTO THIS EVENING... BUT WINDS ALOFT WILL REMAIN
WEAK. THESE CONDITIONS WILL FAVOR DEVELOPMENT OF SLOW-MOVING AND
RELATIVELY SHORT-LIVED THUNDERSTORMS KNOWN AS PULSE STORMS. THESE
STORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME BRIEFLY SEVERE... WITH
LOCALIZED MICROBURST WINDS UP TO 65 MPH AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL THE
MAIN HAZARDS. THE UNSTABLE AIR OVER NORTHERN TEXAS AND SOUTHERN
OKLAHOMA WILL SPREAD NORTH INTO CENTRAL OKLAHOMA... WHICH WILL
INCREASE THE CHANCES OF SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING FARTHER
NORTH INTO SOUTHWESTERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA LATER THIS AFTERNOON
INTO THIS EVENING. SEVERE WEATHER CHANCES WILL DIMINISH THIS EVENING
AS INSTABILITY DECREASES WITH THE LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING.

PROBABILITY TABLE...
VALID THROUGH 700 AM CDT SUNDAY JUN 10.
PROBABILITY OF THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRING IN THE
NWS NORMAN COUNTY WARNING AREA...80 PERCENT.
PROBABILITY OF SEVERE STORMS IF STORMS OCCUR...40 PERCENT.

OTHER HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
NONE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...

THUNDERSTORM OUTLOOK...
A LOW CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS WESTERN AND
NORTHERN OKLAHOMA ON SUNDAY AS A DRYLINE FORMS OVER WEST TEXAS...
AND WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES APPROACH THE REGION. DUE TO HIGH
INSTABILITY... ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE. HOWEVER...
WEAK WIND SHEAR SHOULD PRECLUDE WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER.

THE NEXT SIGNIFICANT CHANCE OF SEVERE STORMS WILL BE NEXT WEDNESDAY
AS A DRYLINE AND COLD FRONT MOVE INTO THE AREA. THUNDERSTORM CHANCES
MAY THEN CONTINUE THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK AS MOIST FLOW DEVELOPS
NEAR THE ROCKIES... WITH STORMS POSSIBLY MOVING INTO PARTS OF THE
AREA ON ONE OR MORE NIGHTS.

OTHER HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
NONE.

THE NEXT SCHEDULED HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK WILL BE ISSUED AT 7 AM
SUNDAY.
