.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

A MIXED BAG OF SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO
AFFECT A LARGE PORTION OF CENTRAL AND WESTERN CENTRAL MISSOURI...
INTO FAR EASTERN KANSAS THROUGH TONIGHT. FOR AREAS ALONG FROM THE
KANSAS CITY METRO TO CARROLLTON TO MACON...PERIODS OF LIGHT SLEET
AND SNOW WILL PERSIST THROUGH TONIGHT...RESULTING IN MINOR ICE
ACCUMULATIONS. PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER OFF QUICKLY TOWARD THE IOWA
BORDER. DUE TO THE THIN GLAZE OF ICE ON AREA ROADWAYS...PERSONS ARE
URGED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION IF TRAVELING OR AVOID IT ENTIRELY IF
NOT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED
ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING.

FURTHER SOUTH...FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL CONTINUE ALONG A
CORRIDOR FROM MOUND CITY KANSAS TO WARRENSBURG TO MOBERLY...SOUTH
ACROSS CLINTON...SEDALIA AND THE TRUMAN LAKE REGION. ACCUMULATIONS
OF AT LEAST ONE QUARTER INCH OF ICE ARE EXPECTED...RESULTING IN
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF THIS
MAGNITUDE MAY ALSO LEAD TO DOWNED TREES AND POWERLINES. GIVEN THE
BITTERLY COLD AIRMASS SPREADING INTO MID MISSOURI...PERSONS SHOULD
BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF LOSING POWER.

PERIODS OF WINTER WEATHER ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION

IS EXPECTED...WITH POCKETS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE OR LIGHT SNOW

ACROSS THE REGION ON SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. A MIXTURE OF SLEET
AND SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO EASTERN KANSAS AND WESTERN MISSOURI
SUNDAY...GRADUALLY TRANSITIONING TO ALL SNOW AS COLDER AIR MOVES IN
ALOFT. A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR AREAS ALONG AND
SOUTH OF THE MISSOURI RIVER...WHERE THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD FOR
SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS LATE SUNDAY. FURTHER
NORTH...THE SUNDAY EVENT SHOULD BE MAINLY ALL SNOW...WITH MINOR
ACCUMULATIONS OF SEVERAL INCHES EXPECTED. PERSONS ARE URGED TO
MONITOR LATER OUTLOOKS AS THIS SECOND STORM APPROACHES...WITH THE
EXPECTATION THAT ADDITIONAL ADVISORIES AND WARNINGS WILL BE POSTED.
