THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL
NEW MEXICO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THE PROBABILITY FOR WIDESPREAD HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS LOW.
HOWEVER...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS FROM NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHWEST
NEW MEXICO SOUTHWARD THROUGH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO COULD
PRODUCE HALF TO THREE QUARTER INCH DIAMETER HAIL AND WIND GUSTS OF
40 TO 50 MPH THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY EVENING. LOCALIZED INSTANCES
OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL MAY CAUSE A FEW ARROYOS AND SMALL STREAMS TO
RUN HIGH WITH FAST FLOWING AND TURBULENT SURGES OF WATER.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

AT 215 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF A STRONG THUNDERSTORM...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A HALF TO THREE
QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF RAIN IN 45 MINUTES...PEA TO DIME SIZE HAIL
AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES. MOVEMENT WAS SOUTHWEST AT 15 MPH.

THIS STORM WILL MOVE FROM THE EASTERN PART OF THE METRO AREA
ACROSS WESTERN SECTIONS THROUGH 3 PM.

MOTORISTS CAN EXPECT BRIEF...BUT SUDDEN CHANGES IN VISIBILITY AND
PONDING OF WATER ON THE ROADWAYS AS THIS STORM MOVES THROUGH THE
AREA.

HEAVY RAINS WILL CAUSE WATER TO POND ON ROADS AND IN LOW SPOTS. FAST
RUNNING WATER WILL QUICKLY FILL ARROYOS AND DITCHES.
