MOISTURE WILL INCREASE TONIGHT AS A STORM SYSTEM DEVELOPS OVER THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. LIGHT SNOW WILL REDEVELOP ACROSS PARK...SUMMIT AND SOUTHERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES AFTER MIDNIGHT WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS UP TO 2 INCHES POSSIBLE BY TUESDAY MORNING. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY STRONG WARM ADVECTION OCCURS TOMORROW AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WHICH SHOULD BRING AT LEAST A BAND OF SNOW NORTHWARD ACROSS THE AREA. FROM DENVER-FORT COLLINS...SOUTHERLY DOWNSLOPE FLOW OFF THE PALMER DIVIDE USUALLY WINS OUT OVER PRECIP SO EXPECT ONLY A BRIEF SHOT OF PRECIP ON THE NOSE OF WARM ADVECTION. THIS IS SHOWN NICELY IN THE 300K ISENTROPIC PRESSURE ADVECTION FIELD. BY TUESDAY NIGHT...MORE EMPHASIS ON THE LOCATION OF THE UPPER LOW AND ASSOCIATED Q-G VERTICAL MOTION WILL COME INTO PLAY. AS A RESULT...HAVE KEPT BEST POPS ON THE EASTERN PLAINS AND IN THE MOUNTAINS WHERE THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR CONTINUED LIFT AND LACK OF DOWNSLOPE COMPONENT...THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ACROSS NORTHEASTERN COLORADO FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING INTO THURSDAY MORNING AS STRONG WINDS COMBINE WITH POSSIBLY HEAVY SNOW ASSOCIATED WITH WRAP AROUND PRECIPITATION. WHILE THE I-25 CORRIDOR COULD SEE LITTLE IF ANY PRECIPITATION IF SOUTH/SOUTHWESTERLY DOWNSLOPE WINS OUT. SAME GOES FOR WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT AS SYSTEM PULLS OUT TO THE NORTHEAST AND FLOW TURNS MORE NORTHWESTERLY. OVERALL...THE MOUNTAINS AND FAR EASTERN PLAINS SEEM MOST FAVORED FOR HEAVIER SNOW GIVEN THE LATEST MODEL TRENDS. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT IF THE UPPER LOW IS SLOWER...AND THERE IS NOT MUCH EVIDENCE OF A STRONG UPSTREAM KICKER TO PUSH IT ALONG...THEN MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL WOULD OCCUR CLOSER TO THE I-25 CORRIDOR.
