TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 

       CENTRAL NEBRASKA

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 300 PM UNTIL 900
PM CDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 65 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF IMPERIAL NEBRASKA TO
GRAND ISLAND NEBRASKA.

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.

UNSTABLE AIR MASS  IN WARM SECTOR.  STRONGLY VEERING SHEAR PROFILES
VICINITY BOUNDARY SUPPORT SUPERCELL DEVELOPMENT.  VERY LARGE HAIL
WILL BE PRIMARY THREAT AS THE STORMS DEVELOP SLOWLY E/SEWD. HOWEVER
LOCALLY CONDITIONS WILL FAVOR TORNADOS AS STORMS MOVE INTO THE VERY
MOIST ELY BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 3 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 550.
