UNION COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY * UNTIL 800 PM EDT * AT 500 PM EDT...OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING ALONG ROUTE 22 IN SCOTCH PLAINS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. THE HEAVY RAIN FALL OF EARLIER THIS EVENING HAS MOVED OUT OF THE AREA AND ANY FLOOD WATERS SHOULD BE RECEDED. THE THREAT OF FLASH FLOODING HAS DIMINISHED SO THE WARNING WILL BE ALLOWED TO EXPIRE.
