THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
  BURNET
  LLANO

* UNTIL 1000 PM CST

* AT 856 PM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY 
  RAINS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH ACROSS MUCH OF THE WARNED AREA.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT BURNET AND LLANO COUNTIES 
THROUGH 10 PM WITH RAINFALL GRADUALLY DIMINISHING. AN ADDITIONAL 
ONE-HALF INCH OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED BEFORE THE RAINS END. 
HOWEVER...RECENT RAINFALL WILL LIKELY KEEP FLASH FLOODING IN 
PROGRESS OVER THE NEXT HOUR. RAINFALL TOTALS UP TO 3 INCHES OVER THE 
PAST DAY WILL RESULT IN RAPID RUNOFF FOR ANY RAIN THAT FALLS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

  FLASH FLOODING FROM A THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WARNED AREA.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE SPRING BRANCH...SMITHSON VALLEY...
  GUADALUPE RIVER STATE PARK...FISCHER AND CANYON LAKE DAM.

HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OVER SMALL CREEKS AND
STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS...UNDERPASSES AND POORLY 
DRAINED AREAS. HEAVY RAINS UP TO 4 INCHES ARE DUMPING INTO THE 
GUADALUPE RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES WHICH MAY RESULT IN FLOODING 
ALONG RIVER ROAD. 

FLASH FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER COVERED AREAS. A LITTLE
OVER A FOOT OF WATER CAN CARRY AWAY MOST CARS AND TRUCKS. TURN AROUND
- DONT DROWN.
