MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0573
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0540 AM CDT FRI APR 25 2003

AREAS AFFECTED...FL PNHDL...EXTREME SERN AL

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL

VALID 251040Z - 251145Z

MESOANALYSIS DEPICTS WARM FRONT SITUATED NW-SE ACROSS CNTRL/SERN AL
AND THE FL PNHDL EARLY THIS MORNING. A SMALL TSTM THAT DEVELOPED
NORTH OF PNS GREW INTO A SUPERCELL AND PRODUCED A DAMAGING TORNADO
IN OKALOOSA COUNTY. THIS CELL WILL PASS THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF
NRN WALTON COUNTY BY 1045 UTC...THEN LIKELY WEAKEN AS IT MOVES EAST
OF THE WARM FRONT.

UPSTREAM...MOB VWP SHOWS THAT THE WINDS FLOW HAS STRONGLY VEERED IN
THE PAST HOUR OR SO...AND SW-NE ORIENTED LINE OF CONVECTION WILL
PROGRESS FROM WEST-EAST ACROSS THE REGION IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS. IT
IS POSSIBLE THAT OTHER ISOLD TORNADOES MAY OCCUR AS ANY TSTM
DEVELOPS AND MOVES INTO THE ENHANCED SRH AXIS ALONG THE WARM FRONT.
BUT...LINEAR CHARACTER OF THE APPROACHING TSTMS SUGGESTS LOCALLY
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS OR HAIL WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREATS.

WW IS BEING CONSIDERED.
