NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

AREAS AFFECTED...INTERIOR S FL

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL

VALID 141936Z - 142130Z

ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP NEAR AND S OF LAKE
OKEECHOBEE IN THE NEXT 1-2 HOURS. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING GUSTS
WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS...THOUGH LIMITED
SEVERE STORM COVERAGE SUGGESTS A WW WILL NOT BE NECESSARY.

VISIBLE IMAGERY SHOWS SEVERAL CLUSTERS OF TOWERING CUMULUS
DEVELOPING FROM IMMEDIATELY NW OF MIAMI TO NEAR LAKE OKEECHOBEE.
SURFACE TEMPERATURES HAVE WARMED TO THE MID-UPPER 80S AND DEW
POINTS REMAIN IN THE UPPER 60S...SUPPORTING MLCAPE VALUES NEAR
2000 J/KG. IN ADDITION...DEEP TROPOSPHERIC SHEAR APPEARS
MARGINALLY FAVORABLE FOR ORGANIZED/PERSISTENT STORMS. EXPECT
THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP IN THE DISCUSSION AREA DURING THE NEXT
1-2 HOURS AS CONVECTIVE INHIBITION IS REDUCED AND SEA/LAKE BREEZE
BOUNDARIES INTERACT ACROSS GLADES/HENDRY/PALM BEACH/BROWARD
COUNTIES. THE STRONGEST STORMS MAY PRODUCE MARGINALLY SEVERE
HAIL AND STRONG DOWNBURST WINDS... ESPECIALLY IN THE CASE WHERE
ANY STORMS ARE ABLE TO MOVE SLOWLY SWD ALONG THE N-S ORIENTED SEA
BREEZE FRONT.
