CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL

THUNDERSTORMS WITH ISOLATED SEVERE HAIL AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL
IS POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS RANGES IN AND AROUND PRC
THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING HOURS.

NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED DURING THE PAST HOUR OR SO
ALONG THE SRN EDGE OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN...FROM WEST OF PRC TO NEAR
SOW. DESPITE WEAK FLOW ALOFT...AIR MASS IS MODERATELY UNSTABLE AND
IS FAVORABLE FOR BRIEFLY STRONG UPDRAFTS...WITH SEVERE HAIL. THE
WEAK WINDS ALOFT...HOWEVER...WILL RESULT IN STORMS TO QUICKLY BECOME
UNDERCUT...SO ANY HAIL THREAT SHOULD BE SHORT LIVED. THE SLOW STORM
MOTION MAY ALSO RESULT IN STORMS PRODUCING BRIEFLY HEAVY
RAINFALL...WITH RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES/HOUR POSSIBLE.
