AREAS AFFECTED...SWRN THROUGH NERN ND

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 870...

VALID 190022Z - 190145Z

SCATTERED STORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE ACROSS CNTRL-NERN ND DURING THE
NEXT 2-3 HOURS WITH THREAT FOR ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND AND HAIL.

THIS EVENING A SURFACE BOUNDARY EXTENDS FROM NWRN MN SWWD TO A
SURFACE LOW IN SWRN ND. THE ATMOSPHERE REMAINS MODERATELY UNSTABLE
IN VICINITY OF THIS BOUNDARY...BUT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW
STORMS OVER SWRN ND ACTIVITY HAS BEEN SLOW TO DEVELOP. HOWEVER...WV
IMAGERY SHOWS A WELL DEFINED VORT MAX LIFTING NWD TOWARD CNTRL ND.
ASCENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS FEATURE MAY PROMOTE ADDITIONAL
DEVELOPMENT AS IT INTERACTS WITH THE LOW LEVEL CONVERGENT BOUNDARY.
VERTICAL SHEAR IS WEAK...BUT THERMODYNAMIC PROFILES APPEAR
SUFFICIENT TO SUPPORT THREAT OF ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND AND POSSIBLY
SOME HAIL IF STORMS DEVELOP.
