MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1982
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0519 PM CDT FRI JUL 25 2003

AREAS AFFECTED...WRN OK

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL

VALID 252219Z - 260015Z

ISOLATED DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THUNDERSTORMS OVER WRN
OK. MARGINAL NATURE OF THE THREAT AND LIMITED AREAL COVERAGE WILL
PRECLUDE A WW.

LATEST RADAR IMAGERY SHOWS SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS IN PROGRESS OVER
NWRN AND SWRN OK. CONVECTION WAS DEVELOPING ALONG THE LOW LEVEL
THETA-E AXIS EXTENDING FROM NEAR END SWD TO FSI. 30 KTS OF 1-6 KM
SHEAR PER RECENT VCI PROFILER ALONG WITH MLCAPES AROUND 3000 J/KG
AND 30-35 DEGREE TEMP/DEWPT SPREADS WILL FAVOR THE POTENTIAL FOR
STRONG DOWNDRAFTS AND ISOLATED DAMAGING WINDS. RELATIVELY HIGH WBZ
HEIGHTS AROUND 12 KFT WILL LIMIT THE THREAT FOR LARGE HAIL.SEVERE
THREAT WILL LIKELY BE SHORT LIVED FROM EACH INDIVIDUAL STORM DUE TO
SLOW STORM MOTIONS AROUND 5 KTS.

CONVECTION SHOULD DISSIPATE AROUND 01Z WITH INCREASING INHIBITION.
