THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIDLAND HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  GAINES COUNTY IN WEST TEXAS

* UNTIL 1130 PM CDT

* AT 825 PM CDT...A SPOTTER REPORTED WATER OVER ROADS IN THE
  TOWN OF HIGGINBOTHAM. THE SPOTTER ALSO REPORTED RAINFALL RATES
  OF 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR OCCURRING ACROSS WESTERN GAINES COUNTY. 
  AT 825 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS MUCH
  OF GAINES COUNTY. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE NORTH OF HIGHWAY 180
  NEAR HIGGINBOTHAM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE ADDITIONAL
  FLASH FLOODING.   

DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES.

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO
ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OVER A FLOODED ROAD. THE
ROAD MAY BE WASHED OUT.

ACROSS NORTHERN SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY FROM HIGGINBOTHAM EAST ACROSS 
OPEN COUNTRY TO TEXAS HIGHWAY 214...5 MILES SOUTH OF DENVER CITY.
