NORTHERN GREAT BASIN FORECAST DISCUSSION 200 PM PDT MON AUG 4 2003 70KT JET AHEAD OF UPPER LOW JUST OFF THE NRN CA COAST WILL NOSE INTO NRN NV TONIGHT. THIS ALONG WITH GOOD SPEED/DIRECTIONAL SHEAR AND LIFTED INDICES AROUND -3 TO -4 WILL PRODUCE SOME STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NRN NV. SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL PROBABLY GO SEVERE. EAST CENTRAL NV ON FRINGE OF MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY SO WILL ONLY GO WITH ISOLATED STORMS THERE. ETA HANGS ON TO SOME INSTABILITY ACROSS THE FAR NORTH TUE WHILE THE GFS IS STABLE.
