1230 PM CDT SAT OCT 11 2003

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
  EDWARDS

* UNTIL 330 PM CDT

* AT 1230 PM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A BAND OF VERY
  HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTHERN EDWARDS COUNTY WHILE ANOTHER BAND OF VERY 
  HEAVY RAIN IS MOVING ACROSS WESTERN EDWARDS COUNTY.  RAINFALL   
  RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WERE NOTED.  RUNOFF WILL BE MORE RAPID 
  DUE EARLIER RAINS WITH 1 TO 1.5 INCHES NOTED.  

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND 
ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
