THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
  VAL VERDE

* UNTIL 630 PM CDT

* AT 426 PM...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY 
  RAINS MOVING NORTH AT 25 MPH ACROSS WESTERN VAL VERDE COUNTY.

DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES SUGGEST UP TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN 
OVER THE PECOS RIVER SOUTH OF PANDALE SINCE 2 PM. AN ADDITIONAL INCH 
OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THIS SAME AREA. THIS WILL CAUSE FLASH 
FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY 
WASHES AND ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS 
AND STREAMS.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO 
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON 
FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
