THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MEADE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS
  SEWARD COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS

* UNTIL 115 AM CDT

* AT 1013 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED 
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN ACROSS EASTERN SEWARD AND 
ALL OF MEADE COUNTY.  RAINFALL RATES HAVE BEEN 1 TO 2 INCHES PER 
HOUR AND EXCESSIVE RAINFALL HAS ALREADY OCCURRED.  THERE WAS ONE 
UNOFFICIAL REPORT OF 8 INCHES OF RAIN 3 MILES WEST OF KISMET.  
COUNTY ROADS WILL LIKELY BE COVERED BY WATER IN LOWER LYING AREAS. 
PERSONS NEAR DRAINAGE AREAS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATER.

  MEADE STATE PARK,

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
