The archived warnings, watches and discussions in force at that minute are drawn over the scan, this one among them.

Did it verify

Not verified. The Iowa Environmental Mesonet's Cow found no qualifying storm report inside this severe thunderstorm warning while it was in force. That is not proof nothing happened: reports are thin where few people live.

Cow counts a report within 15 km of the polygon while the warning was in force: a tornado for a tornado warning; hail of 1 inch or more, a gust of 58 mph or more or wind damage for a severe thunderstorm warning; a flash flood report for a flash flood warning.

The nearest sounding before it

Dodge City, (KDDC), launched 00:00Z, 11.4 hours before the alert went out and 139 km from the middle of its area. This is the routine balloon launch nearest before it, the air the forecaster had in hand, not a measurement taken for the alert.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AMARILLO TX

SHOULD SEE RAIN CHANCES INCREASE TODAY INTO TOMORROW AS THE UPPER
LOW APPROACHES THE AREA. HIGH DEWPOINTS ARE BEING ADVECTED INTO
EASTERN NM WHICH MAY CAUSE CONVECTION TO DEVELOP ALONG THE
MOUNTAINS AND MOVE INTO OUR CWA. DAYTIME HEATING AS WELL AS A COUPLE
OF BOUNDARIES SHOULD ALSO MAXIMIZE CHANCES IN THIS AREA. THE PRECIP
SHOULD SPREAD TO THE EAST TONIGHT INTO THU AS THE UPPER LOW MOVES
INTO NEW MEXICO. THE HIGHEST CHANCES FOR RAIN SHOULD BE IN OUR
NORTHERN CWA MAINLY THE OK PANHANDLE DUE TO WRAP AROUND MOISTURE AS
THE MAIN UPPER LEVEL ENERGY MOVES ACROSS THE TX PANHANDLE. HOWEVER
THE GREATEST CHANCES FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE IN OUR SOUTHERN CWA
WHERE HIGH DEWPOINTS COMBINED WITH THE FRONT WILL PROVIDE THE
GREATEST INSTABILITY AND SHEAR.

THE RAIN WILL EXIT THE REGION ON FRIDAY AND SOME COOLER WEATHER
WILL BE IN STORE THRU SAT. SUN AND MON WILL WARM UP BEFORE ANOTHER
COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE TX/OK PANHANDLES ON TUE. PRELIM NUMBERS
