WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA - RUSKIN FL 155 PM EDT SUN JUN 30 2002 WET PATTERN WILL PERSIST FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL REMAIN OVER THE REGION. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE EAST OF FLORIDA ALLOWING BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW TO VEER AND BECOME SOUTHERLY ON MONDAY. DAYTIME HEATING AND WEST COAST SEABREEZE WILL BE THE MAIN FOCUS FOR AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. DUE TO SOUTHERLY WIND FLOW PARALLEL TO THE WEST COAST SEABREEZE...COULD SEE SOME TRAINING OF THUNDERSTORMS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL...MAINLY NORTH OF TAMPA TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL DROP OVER NORTH FLORIDA MONDAY NIGHT AS SURFACE RIDGE AXIS BECOMES ORIENTED EAST/WEST ACROSS THE FLORIDA STRAITS.
