000 WWUS20 KWNS 281534 SEL6 SPC WW 281525 KYZ000-OHZ000-PAZ000-WVZ000-LEZ000-282100- URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 166 STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 1125 AM EDT SUN APR 28 2002 THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF EXTREME NORTHERN KENTUCKY OHIO NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA EXTREME WESTERN WEST VIRGINIA LAKE ERIE EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON FROM 1145 AM UNTIL 500 PM EDT. TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 95 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 60 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CINCINNATI OHIO TO 50 MILES NORTH OF YOUNGSTOWN OHIO. REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING ALONG EASTWARD MOVING COLD FRONT ARE EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS AS THE AIR MASS CONTINUES TO DESTABILIZE.
