THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST NEBRASKA                           

EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 440 PM UNTIL
1000 PM CDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 75 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF KEARNEY
NEBRASKA TO 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF NORFOLK NEBRASKA.

NEB.  DEEP LAYER SHEAR AND LARGE SCALE ASCENT WILL INCREASE OVER
THIS AREA AS A MID LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES NEWD FROM CO TO
CENTRAL/WRN NEB...AND INSTABILITY IS SUFFICIENT FOR SEVERE STORMS. 
A FEW SUPERCELLS WILL BE POSSIBLE...WITH LARGE HAIL AND A FEW
DAMAGING GUSTS LIKELY THROUGH THIS EVENING.
