THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  RICHMOND COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1015 PM EDT

* AT 808 PM EDT RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY
  RAIN OVER THE WARNED AREA. AS MUCH AS 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS LIKELY  
  FALLEN NORTH OF ELLERBE SINCE 7 PM. 

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOW PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN 
  THE VICINITY OF ROCKINGHAM WHERE TWO TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN MAY   
  OCCUR THROUGH 9 PM.  

SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL RAPIDLY FLOOD...POSSIBLY WASHING OUT 
ROADS AND FLOODING NEARBY LOW AREAS. SOME CREEKS THAT MAY RISE 
RAPIDLY INCLUDE HITCHCOCK CREEK AND LITTLE MOUNTAIN CREEK.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE 
ABANDONED. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. MOTORISTS ON HIGHWAY 220 AND 
HIGHWAY 73 SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF WATER 
MOVING SWIFTLY ACROSS THE ROAD.
