AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION...UPDATE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 1240 PM CDT SAT JUL 13 2002 ADJUSTING THE CATEGORICAL RAIN CHANCES DOWN A TAD OVER THE INLAND ZONES WHERE SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HAS STILL YET TO FORM. THE MORNING SURFACE ANALYSIS SHOWED A WEAK BOUNDARY IN THE AREA THAT APPEARS TO HAVE SHIFTED FURTHER NORTH THROUGH THE MORNING. UNLIKE YESTERDAY...THERE IS NO ACTIVE SHORT WAVE BEARING DOWN ON THE REGION AROUND THE BASE OF THE MEAN TROUGH. THS LEAVES HIGH MOISTUE VALUES AND DIURNAL HEATING/SEA BREEZE INFLUENCES AS THE MAIN FACTORS FOR RAIN THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. RADAR AND SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOW CONVECTION POPPING UP OFFSHORE AND ALONG THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE RAPIDLY FILLING SURFACE LOW OFFSHORE. FULL DISCUSSION TO FOLLOW. .MOB...
