THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  KNOX COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 515 AM CDT

* AT 1115 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN IN AND AROUND THE EDINA
  AREA.  THIS AREA OF STORMS EXTENDED INTO NORTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...
  AND SINCE ALL OF THE STORMS ARE MOVING EAST...MODERATE AND 
  OCCASIONALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER KNOX COUNTY THROUGH AT
  LEAST 3 AM.

* FLASH FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA...AND WILL BE
  AFFECTING EDINA...KNOX CITY...HURDLAND...AND NOVELTY...AS WELL
  AS MOST SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS IN THE AREA.   THESE HEAVY RAINS 
  WILL ALSO CAUSE ADDITIONAL RAPID RISES ON THE FABIUS RIVER
  TRIBUTARIES IN KNOX COUNTY.  

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IMMINENT...MOVE QUICKLY TO HIGHER
GROUND. NEVER DRIVE INTO AN AREA WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...
ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. ACT QUICKLY IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED. MOVE
TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT
