THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON KY HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
KNOX COUNTY
* UNTIL 300 PM EDT
* AT 1149 AM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY OCCURRING OVER MUCH OF THE COUNTY. THE
HEAVIEST RAIN THIS MORNING OCCURRED IN AN AREA FROM AROUND INDIAN
CREEK WESTWARD TO THE COUNTY LINE. AT 11:30 AM EMERGENCY PERSONNEL
REPORTED FLOODING ALONG LITTLE INDIAN CREEK AND MOSLEY BRANCH.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF CREEKS
AND STREAMS...ROADS AND ROADSIDE CULVERTS. THE HEAVY RAINS COULD
ALSO TRIGGER ROCK AND MUDSLIDES.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN
DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO
ALLOW YOU TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD
BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG
STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE
AND PROPERTY.
