  THUNDERSTORM WITH LARGE HAIL 9 MILES SOUTH OF MORGANTON...MOVING

MODIFIED GSO SOUNDING SHOWS CAPE ON THE ORDER OF 2000 J/KG THIS
AFTERNOON. SURFACE BASED PARCELS SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM OVERCOMING A
MID LEVEL CAP THIS AFTERNOON...BUT SIMILAR TO YESTERDAY...MOST OF
THE AREA WILL NOT HAVE A DECENT TRIGGER UNTIL PERHAPS LATER IN THE
DAY. A WEAK VORT LOBE EXTENDING DOWN OVER THE NC FOOTHILLS THIS
MORNING WILL MOVE SLOWLY OFF TO THE EAST THIS AFTERNOON WHILE THE
MAIN SHORT WAVE OVER THE MS VALLEY REGION WILL NOT MAKE IT FAR ENUF
EAST BY THE END OF THE DAY. INSTEAD...I EXPECT SCATTERED SHOWERS TO
DEVELOP OVER THE MOUNTAINS IN THE AFTERNOON DUE TO DIFFERENTIAL
HEATING...AND THEN TO DRIFT OUT OVER THE FOOTHILLS AND PIEDMONT IN
THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. WILL ADJUST THE TIMING ON THE
WORDING TO ACCOUNT FOR THIS. THE UPSTATE AND NE GA HAVE THE LEAST
CHANCE CONSIDERING THE WESTERLY FLOW...SO THE POP WILL BE SCALED
BACK SOMEWHAT. TEMPS LOOK OK FOR THE MOST PART AND MIGHT GET A FEW
MINOR ADJUSTMENTS.
