* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTH CENTRAL SAN PATRICIO COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 415 PM CDT

* AT 251 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTH CENTRAL SAN PATRICIO 
COUNTY...FROM HIGHWAY 181 TO HIGHWAY 77...INCLUDING ST PAUL AND 
SINTON.  THE AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN WAS NEARLY   
STATIONARY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL AVERAGE BETWEEN 1 AND 3 
INCHES...WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS BETWEEN 4 AND 7 INCHES.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.

DISCUSSION...OUTFLOW BOUNDARY ORIGINATING FROM ONGOING CONVECTION
ACROSS THE SAN PATRICIO/REFUGIO AREA THIS AFTERNOON CONTINUES TO
INTERSECT SEABREEZE FRONT TO THE SOUTHEAST..INITIATING ADDITIONAL
CONVECTION.  WEAK BOUNDARY LAYER AND ENVIRONMENTAL STEERING CURRENTS
PROMOTES LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR URBAN
FLOODING THIS EVENING.  CONVECTION WILL AFFECT CENTRAL/WESTERN FA
THIS EVENING AS SEABREEZE PUSHES FARTHER INLAND.  MOISTURE PROFILES
DECREASE SLIGHTLY ON THURSDAY WITH A PULSE OF HIGHER PWAT EXPECTED
ON FRIDAY.  SFC PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL BE MODERATE..HOWEVER FLOW IN
THE LOWER BOUNDARY LAYER WILL REMAIN RELATIVELY WEAK PROMOTING
RELEASE OF LATENT INSTABILITY.  AREAL COVERAGE WILL BE LESS OVER THE
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN COMPARED TO TODAY/THIS EVENING.
SUBTROPICAL RIDGE AXIS EXTENDING OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL REMAIN
JUST TO THE EAST OF THE REGION AND SIMILAR SCENARIO OF LIGHT BLAYER
WINDS WILL ALLOW FOR ISOLATED CONVECTION DURING THE MORNING HOURS
ACROSS THE EASTERN COASTAL COUNTIES AND FARTHER INLAND ALONG THE
SEABREEZE FRONT THROUGH THE FORECAST CYCLE.  THE ONLY EXCEPTION WILL
BE THE FAR WESTERN COUNTIES..LASALLE/WEBB WHERE CROSS-SECTIONAL DATA
AND HISTORY OF SEABREEZE PROGRESSION OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS WILL
INHIBIT MENTION OF CONVECTION BEYOND THU EVENING.

MARINE...STRONG LOW-LEVEL JET/SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL PRODUCE
SCEC/LOW-END SCA THROUGH THE PERIOD...ESPECIALLY TONIGHT THROUGH
FRIDAY. SUFFICIENT MOISTURE AND DYNAMICAL/BOUNDARY LAYER FORCING
SUPPORTS SCATTERED CONVECTION THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. MARGINAL
MOISTURE/FORCING WILL RESULT IN ISOLATED CONVECTION THEREAFTER.
