THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTH CENTRAL BERKELEY COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA.

* UNTIL 400 PM EDT.

* AT 1256 PM EDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING  
  IN AND AROUND THE TOWN OF SAINT STEPHEN...WITH UP TO ONE FOOT OF  
  WATER COVERING THE ROADS.  RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 5 TO 8 INCHES OF   
  RAIN HAS FALLEN FROM SAINT STEPHEN TO PINEVILLE.  RAIN HAS EXITED  
  THE AREA BUT THE HIGH WATER WILL SLOWLY RECEDE THROUGH THE         
  REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED INCLUDE... BONNEAU...BONNEAU BEACH...CROSS
  AND SAINT STEPHEN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE RAPID FLOODING OF
ROADWAYS...SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW-LYING AREAS AND DITCHES.

4 PM...

AT 242 PM...CITY OFFICIALS NEAR THE TOWN OF SAINT STEPHEN INDICATE 
MANY ROADS ARE STILL FLOODED IN AND AROUND TOWN.  IN 
ADDITION...STANDING WATER CONTINUES TO AFFECT HIGHWAY 45 BETWEEN 
SAINT STEPHEN AND THE TOWN OF PINEVILLE.  WHILE THE WATER IS 
STARTING TO RECEDE...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT 
UNTIL 4 PM.
