NORTHERN AND CENTRAL BROOKS COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS * UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT * AT 1002 PM CDT...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM FALFURRIAS TO 9 MILES NORTHWEST OF ENCINO...MOVING EAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES OF RAINFALL HAS OCCURRED SINCE 9 PM OVER THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PORTIONS OF BROOKS COUNTY. * SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING INCLUDE...FALFURRIAS AND ENCINO. HIGHWAY 281 BETWEEN FALFURRIAS AND ENCINO WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING THROUGH MIDNIGHT. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.
