SOUTHWEST IDAHO/SOUTHEAST OREGON AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BOISE IDAHO 1000 AM MDT SUN JUL 07 2002 UPDATED SOME ZONES ALREADY THIS MORNING FOR A BIT STRONG WORDING FOR THUNDERSTORMS. MORNING SOUNDING VERY UNSTABLE BUT FOR THIS AFTERNOON THERE WILL BE NO GOOD TRIGGER OTHER THAN AFTERNOON HEATING. THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THIS MORNING IS CENTERED AROUND A VORT MAX AND THE NEW ETA MODEL MOVES THIS VORT MAX TO THE NORTH NORTHEAST INTO THE NORTHERN ZONES BETWEEN 20Z AND 21Z. THIS TIMING ALSO NEAR MAX HEATING SO MAIN REASON FOR THE STRONGER WORDING IN IDAHO ZONES 11 AND 13 AND OREGON ZONE 62. REST OF THE ZONES LOOK GOOD FOR TODAY AS SURFACE HEATING WILL HELP WITH THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. TONIGHT UPPER LEVEL LOW CONTINUES TO MOVE TO THE EAST WITH ENOUGH DYNAMICS AHEAD OF THIS FOR CONTINUED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THROUGH THE NIGHT. SHORT WAVE TO MOVE THROUGH THE STATE ON MONDAY FOR DECREASING CHANCES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE DAY. ALLEN .BOI...NONE.
