EASTERN OKLAHOMA/NORTHWEST ARKANSAS FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK
945 PM CST MON FEB 26 2001

LARGE AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING NORTHEAST OVER EAST TEXAS AND
WESTERN LOUISIANA SHOULD NOT EFFECT THE AREA. THE 00Z ETA/MESOETA
INDICATE THAT THIS AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER SHOULD DISSIPATE OVER
THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS AS LOW-LEVEL JET CRANKS UP OVER WEST
TEXAS. AREA RADARS ALREADY SHOWING SCATTERED SHOWER AND
THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT OVER WESTERN OKLAHOMA WITH THE DEVELOPING
LOW-LEVEL JET. DEVELOPMENT IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD EASTWARD TOWARD
EASTERN OKLAHOMA LATE TONIGHT...AS THE LOW-LEVEL JET VEERS AND
LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE RETURNS FOR REAL. THE 00Z ETA/MESOETA INDICATE
THAT THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE SLOW TO SPREAD ACROSS THE AREA WITH
SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA BEING THE MOST LIKELY AREA TO RECEIVE MEASURABLE
PRECIPITATION BY 12Z. WILL BACK OFF ON CATEGORICAL POPS
OVERNIGHT...EXCEPT FOR SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA. IT IS UNLIKELY AT THIS
TIME THAT NORTHWEST ARKANSAS OR FAR NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA WILL SEE ANY
RAINFALL BEFORE DAYBREAK...SO HAVE KNOCKED POPS DOWN TO CHANCE IN
THOSE AREAS. LIKELY POPS WILL FILL THE VOID FROM FSM TO TUL.
FORECAST SHOWALTER INDICES SHOW LIMITED CHANCE OF THUNDER OVERNIGHT
...PRIMARILY OVER SOUTHERN HALF OF THE AREA. WILL REMOVE MENTION OF
THUNDER FROM THE TULSA AND FAYETTEVILLE ZONES.

UPDATED ZONES ALREADY ISSUED.
