AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TOPEKA KS 3 PM CDT TUE APR 10 2001 SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL TONIGHT AND EARLY WEDNESDAY...THEN TEMPERATURES AND WIND ARE MAIN FORECAST CONCERNS. SFC ANALYSIS SHOWING LOW OVER WESTCENTRAL KANSAS WITH WARM FRONT EAST FROM THE LOW NOW LIFTING NORTHEAST ACROSS NORTHEAST KANSAS. SHORTWAVE OVER NORTHERN OK LIFTING NORTHEAST IS HELPING COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE AREA. WOULD EXPECT THUNDERSTORMS NOW OVER THE AREA TO LIFT OFF TO THE NORTHEAST WITH A BREAK IN THE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED BEFORE MORE THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP OFF TO THE WEST ALONG DRYLINE THEN SWING RAPIDLY NORTHEAST ACROSS THE CWA THROUGH THE NIGHT.
