WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA - RUSKIN FL
126 PM EDT TUE JUN 19 2001

CURRENTLY: GULF SEA BREEZE REMAINING PINNED NEAR THE COAST SO FAR
THIS AFTERNOON...A SIGN THAT COASTAL COMMUNITIES SHOULD SEE THE BULK
OF THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS LATER TODAY. ALSO STARTING TO SEE A
FEW SHOWERS FORMING ON THE GULF BREEZE TO THE NORTH OF TAMPA BAY.

FORECAST: WITH A RELATIVE DIRTH OF 12Z MODEL DATA...WILL GENERALLY
JUST CONTINUE THE CURRENT FORECAST THROUGH ANOTHER DAY. WHAT MODEL
DATA WE DO HAVE CONTINUES TO SHOW A PREDOMINANT LOW LEVEL
SOUTHEASTERLY FLOW THROUGH THE SHORT TERM WITH PLENTY OF MOISTURE TO
FUEL AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS.

MARINE: OVERALL WINDS AND SEAS REMAINING QUIET BUT AFTERNOON AND
EVENING THUNDERSTORMS WILL PROVIDE LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT
LIGHTNING...AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

EXTENDED: LOOKS LIKE WE WILL HAVE A COUPLE OF DAYS OF SOUTHWESTERLY
WINDS REVISIT OVER THE WEEKEND FROM TAMPA BAY NORTH IN RESPONSE TO
UPPER TROF DIGGING INTO THE EAST. WE SHOULD GO BACK TO EASTERLY FLOW
BY EARLY NEXT WEEK...HOWEVER...AS SURFACE RIDGE TO THE NORTH BRIDGES
DOWN THE EAST COAST. STILL ENOUGH MOISTURE AROUND TO MAINTAIN
SCATTERED CONVECTION THROUGHOUT THE EXTENDED PERIOD.
